Redmi K50 to Support IP68 Water Resistance and 100W Fast Charging

Tipster Digital Chat Station appears to have his hands on an extensive leak for Redmi K50. Yesterday he revealed that a Redmi phone is coming with a 120Hz OLED display (6.7”, 1080p+) powered by the Snapdragon 870, which could be a Redmi K50 or the Redmi K40s.

Today he has added that the Redmi K50 will support 100W super-fast charging and IP68 water resistance, both of which would be first for a Redmi phone. Only the flagship Mi phones from Xiaomi have support for triple-digit fast charging and high-end water resistance.

There may also be a stereo speaker setup, presumably not just a combination of the earpiece and the bottom speaker.

As a comparison, the best Redmi phones top out at 67W fast charging and IP53 resistance, which is only basic dust and splash resistance. That’s only one of the four models, the rest top out at 33W.

Redmi K series phones always come with flagship chipsets and the K50 is expected to be no different. The top-tier K50 could be powered by the Snapdragon 898, while the rest may feature the Snapdragon 888 instead. The Snapdragon 870 is an option as well.

However, we recommend taking this information with a grain of salt as it is only a leak and nothing official.
