Dubai RTA Introduces Revised Pricing for Taxi and Hala Services on Major Event Days
During significant events like exhibitions, international conventions held at locations such as the World Trade Centre, Expo City, and the Global Village, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has set the flag fall rate at AED 20. This pricing will specifically apply during the days of these major events.
Moreover, on New Year’s Eve from 6:00 pm on Sunday, December 31st, 2023, until 6:00 am on Monday, January 1st, 2024, dynamic fares of up to 2X will be implemented for Hala Taxi services. At designated locations where fireworks displays are scheduled, both Hala Taxi and standard taxi services will have a flag fall rate of AED 20 during these specific times. These fare adjustments are expected due to road closures planned for New Year’s Eve around areas hosting fireworks displays.
The RTA’s objective behind these changes is to enhance and enhance both regular taxi services and the e-hail ride of Hala Taxi, particularly during major events such as New Year’s Eve. This move aims to cater to the heightened demand for taxi services anticipated from residents, visitors, and tourists traveling to Dubai from various parts of the world during such significant occasions.
