Actor Kamar de los Reyes, renowned for his versatile roles in television, film, and video games, has passed away at the age of 56 in Los Angeles, as confirmed by his family.
De los Reyes succumbed to cancer on Sunday after a brief battle, according to a statement released by Lisa Goldberg, the publicist for his wife, Sherri Saum.
His most notable roles included portraying Antonio Vega, a former gang member turned lawyer and cop in the soap opera ‘One Life to Live,’ alongside his wife Saum. Additionally, he gained recognition for his portrayal of the antagonist Raul Menendez in the widely acclaimed video game ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II.’ His talent extended to various TV shows like Fox’s ‘Sleepy Hollow,’ ABC’s ‘The Rookie,’ and CW’s ‘All American.’
At the time of his passing, de los Reyes was actively involved in filming ‘All American’ and had recently completed roles in Marvel’s upcoming ‘Daredevil’ series and Hulu’s unreleased ‘Washington Black,’ featuring Sterling K. Brown.
Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Las Vegas, de los Reyes discovered his passion for acting upon arriving in Los Angeles during the late ’80s.
