‘Fantastic’ Fakhar Zaman breaks PSL record

Lahore Qalandars opening batter, Fakhar Zaman, has broken a PSL record after becoming the batter with most sixes (90) in HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) history.

The left-hander reached the milestone on Monday during his 36-run knock against Islamabad United, when he slammed Hassan Ali for a six over short fine leg.

The record for most sixes was previously held by Kamran Akmal, who smashed 89 sixes in his PSL career.

The 32-year-old is in rich vein of form as he played a blistering 96-run knock from 45 balls against Peshawar Zalmi on Sunday to power his team to 40-run win.

Fakhar smoked 10 sixes – the joint-second most in an HBL PSL innings – in the 45 balls he played, along with three fours.

Fakhar was also the leading run-scorer in the previous HBL PSL season with 588 runs at an average of 45.23 and a strike rate of 152.72
