Excited to play under Sarfaraz Ahmed’s captaincy – Martin Guptill

New Zealand’ destructive batter Martin Guptill is excited to play HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023, and that too for the very first time in Pakistan.

When asked about Martin playing for a different franchise team, the opening batter stated, “Yes, I am quite excited to play here because that was a little bit too hotter at the time of that year. Karachi was a very good team with talented players, but now it’s my first time here, so I am quite excited.”

When asked about Sarfaraz Ahmed giving him a warm welcome and calling him bhai (brother), Martin Guptill was quite happy with Sarfaraz Ahmed’s gesture.

“Sarfaraz has been such a good player for Pakistan over the past few years, he’s an incredible leader as well, so I am quite excited to play underneath him. and you know, with his experience and other players’ experiences, we can take the team to a whole new level,” said Martin.

In a question asked about Babar Azam as the best batsman in terms of his consistency, Marin Guptill said, “Babar Azam is a very good player, and he has shown his class over the past few years. Consistency is the key, and he has been able to find a way to be consistent,” he said.

“When he has a few low scores, he somehow finds a way to bounce back quickly and get a big score under his belt, and I am lucky enough to bat with him for Karachi Kings,” Guptill maintained.

Reminder for all is that Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings will face off today in the second match of HBL PSL 8 at the National Bank Cricket Arena, Karachi.
