Pakistan’s Exports Increased by $5.733 Billion in FY 2021: FBR

Pakistan’s total exports remained at $27.209 billion in 2020-21 as compared to $21.476 billion in 2019-20, according to the Federal Board of Revenue.

The available data from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) revealed that 15,648 companies have exported $27.209 billion in 2020-21 as compared to 14,747 companies that had exported $21.476 billion last year.

According to the data, 4,505 companies in Karachi, Sindh, have exported $13.818 billion (50.78 percent of the country’s total exports) in 2020-21 as compared to 4,137 companies located in Karachi that had exported $10.999 billion (51.21 percent of the total exports) in 2019-20.

Another 199 companies in Sindh have exported $217 million (0.80 percent of the country’s total exports) in 2020-21 as compared to 207 others companies in the province that had exported $246 million (1.14 percent of the total exports) in 2019-20.

The data showed that 2,262 companies in Lahore, Punjab, have exported $4.719 billion (17.34 percent of the country’s total exports) in 2020-21 as compared to 2,228 companies located in the city that exported $3.906 billion (18.19 percent of the total exports) in 2019-20.

The data also revealed that 956 companies located in Faisalabad, Punjab, have exported $3.223 billion (11.85 percent of the country’s total exports) in 2020-21 as compared to 910 companies that exported $2.241 billion (10.44 percent of the total exports) in 2019-20.

According to the data, 5,777 companies in Sialkot, Punjab, have exported $2.273 billion (8.35 percent of the country’s total exports) in 2020-21 as compared to 5,505 companies located in the city, that had exported $1.725 billion (8.03 percent of the total exports) in 2019-20.

Additionally, 1,197 other companies in the Punjab have exported $1.686 billion (6.20 percent of Pakistan’s total exports) in 2020-21 as compared to 1,110 companies that exported $1.368 billion (6.37 percent of the total exports) in 2019-20.

Furthermore, 92 companies in Quetta, Balochistan, have exported $91 million (33 percent of the country’s total exports) in 2020-21 as compared to 92 companies located in the same city that had exported $97 million (0.45 percent of the total exports) in 2019-20.

The data showed that 367 companies in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, have exported $763 million (2.80 percent of the country’s total exports) in 2020-21 as compared to 322 companies in the city, that had exported $565 million (2.63 percent of the total exports) in 2019-20.

As per the FBR’s data, 31 other companies located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa exported $57 million (0.21 percent of the country’s total exports) in 2020-21 as compared to 23 companies that had exported $39 million (0.18 percent of the total exports) in 2019-20.

The data also showed that 262 companies located in Islamabad and Azad Kashmir have exported $362 million (1.33 percent of the country’s total exports) in 2020-21 as compared to 213 companies in the same regions, that had exported $291 million (1.35 percent of the total exports) in 2019-20.
